Paul Insects' recent output has captured the zeitgeist like few others.
The blend of gothic Victoriana and futuristic themes has led to comparisons with the ‘Steampunk’ ideology, but with the incorporation of images found from popular culture Insect has created an entirely separate entity; intriguing, iconic, and always executed immaculately.
His series The Kid went on to form the artwork for the seminal DJ Shadow album The Outsider and his popularity shows no sign of waning; Insect’s most recent exhibition Bullion at the Lazarides Gallery was overwhelmingly popular and Damien Hirst reportedly bought up the entire collection before the show opened.
