Mark McNulty is a self-taught photographer based in Liverpool.
He has been documenting music and cultural activity in the city for over thirty years, capturing iconic images of key figures from the Liverpool / Merseyside music scene and beyond. McNulty's work has featured on numerous record and magazine covers, a range of exhibitions, as well as in his own book Pop Cultured published by Liverpool University Press in 2008.
In 1987 McNulty was playing guitar in the band Eat My Dog at their debut gig was was the Earthbeat Festival. With an artist’s pass and camera in hand, he photographed many of the bands who appeared that weekend; including these photographs of The La’s on Sefton Park's bandstand.
He continues to work internationally, shooting both music and commercial photography in addition to pursuing a series of long-term personal projects.
