RedHouse Originals Gallery is delighted to present The Coral: Distance Inbetween; an exclusive exhibition documenting the music, artwork and stories behind the critically acclaimed album by The Coral.
As one of the most celebrated bands to emerge from the UK in recent times, The Coral have recently enjoyed a renaissance with the 2016 album Distance Inbetween; the band’s first collection of new material since 2010.
The Coral are true artists in every sense of the word. Seasoned songwriters, accomplished multi-instrumentalists and producers, the band are also entirely responsible for the artistic vision that has made them such an integral part of guitar music in the early 21st Century. Drummer and co-songwriter Ian Skelly has produced the artwork for the band’s album covers since their debut in 2002 and Distance Inbetween is no different. With psychedelic Victorian-inspired cut and paste collages presented alongside surreal comic book-style illustrations, Skelly has created a striking visual world for the album to inhabit. And now, for the first time, fans of the band will be invited to step inside.
This one-off exhibition will feature new unseen artwork alongside special edition prints created by Ian Skelly to document the songs and the stories behind the music. Also on display will be original artefacts and ephemera that inspired the creation of the album.
The Coral: Distance Inbetween exhibition will be on display for two weeks only from 8th - 22nd December and the band are on tour in the UK from 8th - 17th December.
