“What I hope is that when people are looking at my work, that they have the same feelings and connect to the artwork, to my text, and think ‘that’s how I’m feeling, that’s how I see it.’”

A graduate of the Royal College of Art, Adam Bridgland is a British contemporary artist recognised for his distinct practice that draws on a diverse range of materials and working methods, interplaying image and text.
Through a variety of mediums including printmaking, painting and sculpture, Bridgland plays on nostalgia, layering vintage postcards with contemporary text in primary graphic colours.
His work engages with themes of identity and belonging; using text to layer meaning, often counteracted with witty exploration of distinctly British sentiments. Through his evocative visual language, Bridgland creates artwork that connects people through sentiment, community and reflection.
