Rock 'N' Roll Icons

Ft. Fine Art Music Photography by Gered Mankowitz

We are thrilled to announce a brand new exhibition on Rock ‘N’ Roll Icons, featuring classic portraiture by Gered Mankowitz; who was the first to exhibit music photography as fine art, and pioneered the genre with a breakthrough exhibition at London’s prestigious Photographers’ Gallery in 1982.

In 1964, aged just 18, Mankowitz found fame with his portraits of Marianne Faithfull which led to a long and fruitful collaboration with The Rolling Stones. His portraits graced the cover of numerous Stones albums including the iconic, ‘Between The Buttons’, capturing the mood of the bands’ decadent late night recording sessions, and the hazy mornings after.

The exhibition is supplemented by contemporary pop cultural paintings from the studios of Pete McKee and Horace Panter, as well as hand-finished mono prints from the Furr x Mankowitz collaborative 45RPM collection.
